Willow tells the story of seventeen-year old year old Willow Randall. After driving the car the killed her parents, Willow falls into a depression and self-mutilates herself as her way to deal with her life. Willow herself seemed like a very complex character to develop. Julia, no matter how hard it may have been, did a wonderful job in describing the thoughts that cutters probably think. Willow's reason for cutting is the guilt she feels over her parents. Although I wouldn't like to consider cutting myself, I could relate to Willow.
She felt like a murderer and thought that she didn't deserve to be happy and enjoy life. Then along comes Guy, he finds out her secret and becomes determined to help Willow and becomes her life jacket in the middle of drowning. Willow inspires me the enjoy everyday because the next day isn't promised and there are people like Willow who would kill to live the life that I live.
