Summary from Goodreads:
Ryan is not obsessing....
But she does want to lose weight. Ever since she was outted as a
"fat girl" at chearleading camp in fifth grade, Ryan's been on a mission
to shed more than a few pounds. Lately she's also on the hunt for a new relationship. Now that her ex-boyfriend is a rock star - currently posing on the cover of Rolling Stone - Ryan seriously needs to move on. They haven't spoken in months, but in the magazine Noah's wearing the bracelet Ryan gave him. She can't help wondering what that means...Not that she wants him back or anything. No, Ryan's plan is to make the most of senior year. After all, she's popular, funny, a talented photographer...she's got a lot going for her. So it's not all about losing weight or gaining a boyfriend. It's about getting what she wants. And it's about time.

Plot: Ryan Burke is a girl with a little extra weight and a lot of extra problems. After being declared fat at cheerleading camp, Ryan's life and emotions go downhill. She let's her weight rule her relationships, her friendships and her overall life. With the help of her therapist and a boy next door friend, she finds a way to kick her depression, keep her friends, and be involved in the best relationship of her teenage life.

My Opinion: This girl was a big girl power inspiration. Ryan is so very recognizable in myself and others. At times I found myself getting annoyed with Ryan at the objective comments she had about herself until I though about myself. She has all the thoughts that an overweight person and depressed person has. The thoughts that everyone is having more fun than you. She has one thing that she really loves to do: photography. She meets or remeets Josh at a photography class and they reconnect and she feels more at home with him than any of the 3 boys she has been with. In the end, it really warms me that she gets her man and happiness and she doesn't lose an ounce.
