A Bite's Tale: A Furry Fable by Veronica Blade

A Cinderella who spends her nights as a wolf. A prince with a taste for blood.

Seventeen year old Cydney struggles against her werewolf nature, trying to keep everyone around her safe. No way will she risk exposing the beast at the prince’s ball, no matter how her two cousins try to persuade her. Even as she attempts to get on with her life, Cydney can’t forget the boy she loved three summers ago — or what she did to him after losing control.

Turned into a vampire to save his life, the prince refuses to live up to his royal duties. He just wants to find the girl he loved and lost...the werewolf girl who bit him. But his father, the king, commands him to attend a ball where he must choose a wife. Can he find his Cinderella before he's forced to marry another? He doesn’t even have her real name, much less a glass slipper.

With a Bite’s Tale, Cinderella has never been told better! The book just surprised me because Veronica is quickly approaching the top of the list as my favorite author ever! Two winners in a row!!! Cydney or Cinderella is a werewolf and she’s been meeting up with “Jack” for three summers and she’s fallen in love. But when they have they’re first kiss, Cydney loses control and bites Jack. She never forgives herself and even now, back on the island, she lets her fear control her. It is only when she conquers this fear that she opens up and finds the love she’s been missing for so long.
Cydney was a fantastic female character. She was feisty and funny and full of sarcasm. She was unknowingly beautiful. I love red-haired heroines! Her mother has died and she’s living with her aunt. Her only flaw is that she is ruled by her past. She worries heavily that she’ll hurt someone again or worse, hurt her family. The story was a great one of finding and growth for Cydney. She learned that she has more control than she knows and that her Werewolf genes don’t make her a lesser person, but that she’s stronger because of them.
Remy was the ultimate love interest and the opposite of Hayden, but still as sexy. He loved Cydney and waited for her. His voice was very sure and confident which added to his appeal, definitely. He and Cydney combined were Veronica’s claim to fame with A Bite’s Tale.

P.S. I also reviewed Veronica's book, Something Witchy This Way Comes. It is genius!! Check out my review HERE!
