Likely the first love triangle involving just two bodies, it's unabashedly romantic, and the characters (human and alien) genuinely endearing. Readers intrigued by this familiar-yet-alien world will gleefully note that the story's end leaves the door open for a sequel--or another series.
My dominant feeling while reading THE HOST was conflict. I was conflicted about who to like and who to dislike. It seemed that every chapter was inspired to make you think or feel. The characters were wonderfully deep. Wanderer and Melanie are represented so differently. Wanda was nonviolent and calm. She is still so confused about her new world even though she has been so many places. She deals with all the distress amazingly. Melanie is a fighter and the complete opposite of Wanderer. I was surprised that they learned to coexist so peacefully. I read and was afraid of what would happen. I was also a bit horrified at the thought of them staying one person and being in love with two different men. The ending can only be described as perfect and resolute. THE HOST was not rushed, proven by it's 619 pages and it exhilarated me that I can now say that Stephenie is one of my favorite authors for a reason other than Twilight. THE HOST was a long journey, but absolutely well worth it.

Desires of the Dead begins with a hot new guy popping up at school and bringing with him, a creepy little sister. I can't decide which book in this series I liked best. This one was just so headturning! Violet is all up and down in this book. She has a hard time dealing with her gift and regrets the harm that it causes the people she loves. She does a lot of stuff I disagree with like withholding information from Jay and her parents. Even though, she and Jay's relationship grow greatly throughout the story and he proves to be just as sweet and caring as I thought he was. He is really understanding about Violet and doesn't give up on her. What I love about The Body Finder books is that they are equally romance and mystery. I think Kimberly is the Queen of suspense and the scary scenes have me giggling nervously in class. This time the mystery is incredibly tricky and all over the place. You think that you have it, but then you are bamboozled again! I had a lot of fun reading this book and had to frequently stop for fear of a panic attack, but I had a choice I'd do it all over again!
